Mica has a background in delivering therapeutic music sessions to NICU’S (Neonatal Intensive Care Units) and has just been featured on BBC Radio 4’s Illuminated ‘Lost in Lullabies’ Documentary. That won Silver at the ARIA awards this year! The Lullaby sessions constantly inspire her to create music that connects people. As a performer Mica exudes a cool calmness that is captivating to watch. Gripping audiences in and around London and beyond including a run of sold out shows (2026) with Sofar Sounds, The Green Note and The Boileroom supporting Will Varley. ""My music is taken to the next level when you see and hear it performed live. I sing about race, love, identity, change and through all of these moments we have in life there is nothing more powerful than connection. This is why as an artist it is my priority to perform live.” Having spent 2024 finding her feet as a solo artist with plays on BBC Introducing and writing sessions in LA and Germany, she finished off her year on a German tour. This resulted in the release of ‘Sinking In’ a collaborative Folk track. Mica has now released her debut solo EP ‘To Every Dreamer” which has had multiple plays on BBC Introducing Solent. Samfire makes confessional alt pop for people who romanticise their inner world a little too much. A self producing artist, Samfire is building a world that feels both ethereal and painfully human. Following support from BBC Radio 2, BBC Introducing and Record of the Day, she is currently releasing new music. Samfire forms part of ALSO's Future Music: Pathway to Success programme, supported by Arts Council England.

The Expansion Project

Literary

Recently shortlisted for the Nero Book Award for Debut Fiction and for the Goldsmiths Prize, Ben Pester is at ALSO26 with his excellent novel, The Expansion Project, a dizzying, haunted satire of the late-capitalist workplace in which nothing is quite what it seems. "Surreal and unsettling... With a steely commitment to its outlandish form and plot, Pester's novel is as nebulous, mind-bending and delightfully strange as the workplace it describes" ― Observer.

In this bold and philosophical exploration of human creativity, Marcus asks us to consider the complementary relationship between mathematics and art spanning a vast historical and geographic landscape, from the earliest stone circles to Mozart’s obsession with numbers and the radically modern architecture of Zaha Hadid. Whether we are searching for meaning in an abstract painting or finding patterns in poetry, there are blueprints everywhere: symmetry, prime numbers, the golden ratio and more.
